Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)
The Toronto Stock Exchange, or TSX, is a stock exchange located in Toronto, Ontario in Canada, and is one of the world's largest exchanges, with some 1,500 listings. Toronto Stock Exchange History
The TSX was founded in 1861 by a small group of Toronto businessmen. Throughout the years, the TSX grew steadily until in merged with the Standard Stock and Mining Exchange. The TSX moved to a computer-assisted trading system in 1977. In 2000, the TSX became a for-profit company, acquiring the Canadian Venture Exchange shortly thereafter.
